Genuine BT OpenReach Engineer's ADSL extension kit using 10m, 20m or 30m of high quality Category 5e grade twisted-pair cable with an RJ45 plug fitted to one end (to provide for simple plugging into the RJ45 ADSL socket on the BT NTE5 ADSL Master adaptors, although by all means cut it off and hardwire the cable neatly instead!), and an ADSL wall socket for the room where you want your ADSL access point.
The wall boxes are all professional units and use Krone IDC terminals. There's a very basic plastic insertion tool in the package - but consider buying our nifty "Copy Krone tool" also shown in this section for best/quickest/easiest results if you don't already have such a thing in your tool kit. Have a look at it in detail on its own page and you'll see the point(s) of it, from using the correct pressure when inserting, to trimming the excess wire automatically.
This is the exact kit issued as van equipment to BT OpenReach Engineers in the field for fully wired ADSL installations, but we also allow you to choose a better linebox than the basic BT-issue mini-box if it suits your plans and preferences better.
Cable colour used is white, smooth, unprinted and a neat 4mm diameter. Wires are 2 twisted pairs.
Alternatively popularly supplied with our Dual ADSL/Voice socketed wall box for those of you who want to wire up both ADSL and Telephone wiring to a single line box.
For avoidance of any doubt: RJ45 sockets accept both RJ11 plugs (like your modem lead has on it) as well as RJ45.
AND FINALLY: INSERTION TOOL DISCOUNT OFFER!
We do like to reward wisdom, so if you'd prefer to have a proper punch-down type insertion tool like we pros always use, instead of the little basic plastic one supplied in the factory kit, we'll give you one - and it's a good one - with your kit for only £7.50. They're £9.35 when bought separately. |
