ABOUT THIS SITE (and me)

for those interested...

First of all, a little about myself i guess. My name is Chris, I'm 26, and I live in Scotland. I currently work as a projectionist in the local cinema (until i get made redundant by computers that is). I also play bass (what else?) in a band called Good Bad News, please check us out if you have a minute :)

I started listening to Ned's Atomic Dustbin back in 2000, on the recommendation of my friend Jon, and I thought they were bloody fantastic, and a refreshing change from today's ever changing trends. Since then I've got into other bands from that era, like The Wonder Stuff, Senseless Things, PWEI, but I still hold Ned's as my favourite. I've spent a lot of time (and money) hunting down all the various stuff that I could find by them, and I have a small but gradually growing collection. (click here to see a list of my stuff)

I thought I would never be fortunate enough to see the band play live, having missed them first time round (I was only 10 when they split) and I also missed the 2000 reunion, so I thought I would just have to settle for listening to live shows on mp3. But I was estatic when I heard that there would be more reunion gigs. Unfortunately though, i couldn't make it down there for the first lot (couldn't get the cash together, and it was just too far in the end.) But luckily, i got my wish when they played King Tut's in 2004, and i finally got to see them - Bloody excellent they were too! I have been able to attend several other gigs since :)

I started this site back in 2002, just as something to do i guess, and to show my appreciation for the band in some small way. It was rather, well, Pants to begin with, and didn't really have much content, but it provided a starting point and the motivation to make it better. Now i think the site is at least mildly interesting, and hopefully provides some worthwhile content for you folks, with things such as the tshirt section, articles and the discography - an area i put a lot of time and effort into, and am now rather proud of.
Many thanks go to Pete 'Scrawl' Cayer, as this site just wouldn't have been possible without all his hard work back in the day :)
And of course, many thanks also go to Jon, for getting me into the band in the first place!

Well, enough boring drivel, if you have any comments please get in touch.

Chris
