Impact action inserts and trims the wire simultaneously when inserting in IDC terminals as found on telephone line boxes, the BT ADSL adaptors and most professional telephony fittings, network/telecom patch panels and sockets, and all over the professional telecom world.

You just set the wire in the terminal blades, and press down gradually. At a preset pressure the tool head impact action triggers and completes the insertion (with a metal insertion blade of course), while a small cutting blade also trims the excess wire off. Job done.

Body also conceals a handy fold-out hook tool and blade.

The thing on the string is a protective cap for the tool head when not in use, and there's also a fold-out wire hook in the the main body.

We've put this version here for anyone who wires a good few extensions and patch panels and needs the very best tool for the job. To be honest though, it's difficult to justify the price of this compared to the perfectly good copy above - and this from guys who use punchdown tools daily... Don't say we're not honest!
